Trying Times
A prayer
Lord God, you test the righteous, and your soul hates the wicked and the one who loves violence. (Psalm 11:5)
I pray that we take these trying times as a means to test everything, hold fast what is good and let go of what is bad. (Thessalonians 5:21,22)
God, you never tempt us toward sin. It is good for me to remember that temptation comes from the world, the flesh, and the devil. (James 1:13) I pray that we, in our flesh don’t turn these tests into sin.
But in all things, I pray that we rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, we are grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of our faith, more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 1:6–7)
In Jesus name, Amen
